Virginia State University Alumni Association's National Conventions provide the opportunity for Virginia State alumni and friends to come together, in shared love for our beloved Alma Mater, to discuss the affairs of the Alumni Association, and ways to continue our support to the University. These conventions provide the perfect backdrop to reminisce with old acquaintances and to meet new Trojan friends.

- The 1st Alumni Convention was held in Atlanta, GA in 1992
- The 2nd Alumni Convention was held in Philadelphia, PA in 1993
- The 3rd Alumni Convention was held in Washington, DC in 1995
- The 4th Alumni Convention was held in Chicago, Illinois in 1996
- The 5th Alumni Convention was held in Hampton, VA in 1998
- The 6th Alumni Convention was held on the campus of VSU in 2000
- The 7th Alumni Convention was held in Charlotte, NC in 2002
- The 8th Alumni Convention was held in Norfolk, VA in 2004
- The 9th Alumni Convention was held back on the campus of VSU in 2006
