Dear Fellow Alumni and Friends,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the new and improved Virginia State University Alumni Association website! We are very excited about this site and the tremendous resource that it will offer alumni in connecting back to our beloved Alma Mater through the program and services offered by the Alumni Association. Please browse the website and bookmark it as one of your favorites, as we plan to add many new services to the site to help keep you informed.
As National President of an Association that has a current membership roster of over 1,000 members and growing, this is a very special time to be a Trojan. As a graduate of the class of 1973, I often find myself reflecting on days gone by. Friendships formed and days of playing clarinet in the “Marching 110” come flooding back whenever I find myself back on the campus. Gatherings such as Homecoming and Alumni Weekend truly energize me and cause me to be so very thankful for that “VSU Experience”. The word thankful resonates within my very being because when I think of my days on campus, I am reminded that someone gave me an opportunity to reach my educational goals. Had it not been for the school “Far above the Appomattox”, I would not have achieved the level of success that I now enjoy.
I know many of you feel the same way about the University as I do, therefore, I encourage you to show your Trojan loyalty, pride, and spirit by becoming a member of the Alumni Association! Your active participation and membership will ensure that our institution will grow and flourish for all who seek to attain their personal and educational goals at Virginia State. The Association can’t do it without your help!
If you are already a member, thank you for loyal support. If you’re not yet a member, join us as we work to make the Alumni Association and the University the strongest association and institution possible. I hope you will peruse the membership section on this site to learn more about how you can start enjoying the benefits of being a proud member of the Virginia State University Alumni Association. I encourage you to also check out the Directory of Chapters on this site to obtain information on the nearest local alumni chapter in your area.
It’s a great time to be a Trojan!
